Safe Kids Columbus to Host Free Summer Safety Event

Columbus, Ga. (June 3, 2025)— Safe Kids Columbus and many community partners will host a free summer safety event on Friday, June 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital. Free food and prizes will be given out (while supplies last- child must be present).

“Learn about safety topics like water, motor vehicle, bike/pedestrian, fire, animals/pets and more,” Safe Kids Columbus Director Pam Fair says. “Parent participation in a brief safety presentation is required.”

Outside the hospital’s main entrance, children can explore public safety equipment and first responder vehicles. Inside the hospital, children and parents can visit the many safety stations. Use the safety gear pass from registration to pick one item of child safety gear of your choice at the stations inside while supplies last (child must be present).

Tri-City Veterans of Columbus will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs (while supplies last– child must be present and show a food ticket handed out at registration). Safe Kids Columbus would like to thank event partners Columbus Fire and EMS, Columbus Police Department, UGA Cooperative Extension, Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Natural Resources, Oxbow Meadows, PAWS Humane and the Columbus Library.
